CMU ATTENDS CAPPS TOWN HALL MEETING

A representative of California Miramar University attended the California Association of Private Post-Secondary Schools Town Hall Meeting held at the Costa Mesa Hilton Hotel.

Topics included discussion of bill 823, the 2008 law that was passed by the California House and Senate but was opposed by CAPPS and the Governor. and the outlook for new legislation being proposed for 2009.

As the State is currently without an active California law governing the sector, all of the Private Post-Secondary Schools in California were very interested in hearing the thoughts and concerns of the anticipated content of future legislation.

The final topics discussed was the announcement of a legislative update session that would be held in April of 2009 and the benefits of CAPPS membership.

CMU will extend it's membership in this vital organization in 2009.
